FOOD PANTRY
A Helping Hand: Our Church Food Pantry
At Round Hill United Methodist Church (RHUMC) we believe in extending a helping hand to those in need. That's why we operate a community food pantry; a vital resource for families who face food insecurity. Imagine the worry of empty cupboards. The stress of not knowing where your next meal may come from. This is a reality for some in our community. Our food pantry exists to alleviate that burden and offer a beacon of hope.
How We Operate
Volunteers take orders in advance from families who need food. We have a list of regular clients who receive a monthly order form by email or text, and then return the form the week before our monthly distribution, which is normally the third full weekend of every month. The food is packed in bags and boxes, then delivered to the vehicle in the church parking lot. A link to the order form is below.
It may also be emailed as an attachment to foodpantry@roundhillumc.org.
We also have a Blessings Box which is refreshed daily with nonperishable items providing needed food available any time of day. We hope people who need the food inside this box (built by one of the church’s youth members)
will take just what they need.
The Need is Real
Food insecurity is a growing issue in our community. Some families struggle to make ends meet, and the rising cost of groceries can push them over the edge. Our food pantry plays a critical role in bridging that gap and ensuring our neighbors have access to the food they need to thrive.
If someone is in urgent need of food and unable to access our pantry, Loudoun Hunger Relief (LHR) may be available for emergency food and grocery supplies. LHR is located at 750 Miller Drive, Suite A-1 in Leesburg. Their phone number is 703.777.5911. Tree of Life Ministries may also be able to assist. You may be able to pick up an emergency food supply at 115 E. Main Street in Purcellville, or they can deliver up to three weeks worth of food with consideration given to food preferences and allergies. Their phone number is 540-441-7920.

Generosity and Community
Through the generosity of our Congregation and local donations, we stock our shelves with nutritious food staples. Once a month, families visit the pantry, greeted with kindness and respect. They choose a variety of items – canned goods, pasta, rice, beans, protein, fresh produce, dairy products – to create healthy meals for themselves and their loved ones.
The food pantry helps create a sense of community. It's a place where neighbors can find support during difficult times. We understand that hunger can have a profound impact on every aspect of life. By providing essential food assistance, we hope to empower individuals and families to focus on their well-being and build a brighter future.
